Trade priorities of the Slovak Presidency

As of 1st July 2016, Slovakia will take over the presidency of the European Union for the next 6 months. The priorities of the upcoming presidency on international trade are:

  • The signature of the EU-Canada trade agreement (CETA);
  • The modernization of trade defense instruments;
  • The conclusion of the trade talks with Japan;
  • Finding a common position among Member States on China’s status of a market economy.
