Eurasian Economic Union is looking towards ASEAN for new business opportunities

EEU leaders have made clear their objective to strengthen the trade links between their economic union and the ASEAN countries.

Vietnam was the first ASEAN member to sign a free trade agreement with the Eurasian Economic Union in May of this year. In addition, negotiations are ongoing with Thailand and should be concluded by the end of the year. Last but not least, it seems that Indonesia and Cambodia are next on the priority list of the EEU. The Eurasian Economic Union was formally launched in January 2015. Its membership includes Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kirgizstan and Russia.
